Andrea Egmont (Supervisor of Youth and Recreational Services): Andrea has worked in youth programming and direct service for the last 12 years, providing training for child care, after school and year round recreation staff throughout Massachusetts. Her background is in human development, substance abuse prevention, and asset building. She was hired in 2005 to create Newburyport Youth Services and has grown the department into an innovative, profit building, and well recognized and appreciated service for families in and around Newburyport. She looks forward to continuing to develop youth empowerment opportunities and exciting new recreational programs. When she’s not behind her desk or at the skate park, Andrea enjoys riding her bike, walking her dog, and eating out with her friends. |

Margot Petler (Recreation Program Director): Margot joined the NYS team in March 2008 with a background in advertising, camping, youth counseling, and program development. Originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, Margot has also spent time living in Indiana, California, Massachusetts, and now New Hampshire with quite a wide array of jobs and experiences. She looks forward to building family, tween, outside the box, and neighborhood programming. When she’s not running around town or belaying, Margot enjoys being in the woods and/or ocean, cooking, jewelry making, and acting silly with her niece. |

Sarah Hayden (Prevention Project Director for The Beacon Coalition): Sarah joined the Beacon Coalition during Fall 2007. Her background is in school counseling and personal development coaching. She enjoys working with youth in developing the youth assets in the Newburyport community, as well as working to create a healthy community. When she’s not working to reduce substance abuse in the community, Sarah enjoys playing her guitar, riding her bike, and participating in the development of PortMedia. |

Beth Manning (Drop-In Center Coordinator) Beth joined NYS in August 2009 with experience in youth recreation and outdoor education. This Westfield State graduate is originally from Peabody where she has several years experience in recreation. She looks forward to expanding the Kelley School Youth Center and creating a fun, safe place for middle school youth. When she’s not planning after school programs, she enjoys surfing, biking and other outdoor activities! |

Rosie Preston (Office Assistant, Youth Chair of The Beacon Coalition): Rosie joined the NYS team in the Spring of 2005 and The Beacon Coalition in Fall 2007. She brings the spirit and silliness to the office! Rosie is a junior at NHS and looks forward to studying business and entrepreneurship in the future. When she’s not spreading the good word about The Beacon Coalition and substance prevention, Rosie enjoys hanging out with friends, going out to eat, and taking Zumba classes. |
